Tomato Garden Break
For the adventurous stitcher:
See all our designs and SALs here
https://www.temptingtanglesdesigns.com/shop/
After the last month of frustration of websites and shops, I had to take a break. I have been growing tomatoes, peppers, swiss chard, romaine lettuce and a few herbs in set up on tables in a spare room. The- system called the Kratky Method. It is a hydroponic system without pumps. My indoor light garden was doing very well. Until.... one of the kitties decided to terrorize the garden at night. I now have bird netting everywhere. Such hassle! Surely there is some kind of cat repellent to stop her from eating the leaves of everything and rubbing her furry little face on things she does not eat.
These precious tomatoes are smaller than a marble. They are micro-dwarf plants. It got the seeds from Bunnyhop Seeds. These are Jochalos, just right for growing under lights, so they tell me. Last year I grew Tiny Tim and they produced amazingly.
So as I was saying I needed a break from website building, and once in a while, nod at my stitching chair. I am so very, very behind on my models. And I am also, or was also, trying to get another "Quakers in....." designed. I am most of the way there and if it wasn't for Ina, my admin in the Netherlands, I might have given up. There has just been too much happening to keep my train of thought going. So for now, that is the scoop.
On this which once was temptingtangles.com and suddenly thanks to Google and I still cannot fix it, has become temptingtangles.blogspot.com
It bothers me to see some of you over there and some of over here. Or.... are you all the same people? I hope so because I am going to have to drop one eventually. Let me know - comment if you can. I do have comments turned but no one ever says a word to me.

The Last Days of Swans and Shears SAL
Hello to happy stitchers everywhere.
This post is all about the final days of my “Swans and Shears” SAL which has now ended. This SAL has been running since January 19, 2018. Now, in a few days, we will remove the SAL parts
from our Facebook group. That date is September 15,
2018.
After that, we begin a month where SAL members re-check carefully to be sure they have saved all the parts. There is a set of parts charted in the colorway you see above. Then there is a set with one symbol so you can choose your own colors.
The Facebook group will remain open until October 15, 2018. From September 15 to October 15. If you are missing a part, you need to contact me or one of my Admins for replacement parts. After October 15, we will not replace any lost parts.

Long Way Home - New Quaker Sampler
For the adventurous stitcher:
To be released to your favorite shops. And now on Etsy
To be released to your favorite shops. And now on Etsy
The Long Way Home, packed full of Quaker/Vierlanden medallions. And there oodles of little houses, including a lighthouse overlooking the water.
This design, 152 x 152, can be worked over 1 or 2.
We suggest aida or 2 threads of any evenweave or linen.
There is minimal back stitch just to highlight some of the houses and buildings.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
It has been charted in 11 DMC colors with an excellent cross reference to beautiful Dinky Dyes Silk floss.
Our cover model uses Wichelt’s Water Lily linen, in 32 count # 65203. Use one or two strands for back stitch depending upon the look you prefer.
The finished size, worked on that 32 count fabric over 2 threads, is 9 ½” square. If this design is worked on 36 count over 2, finished size would be approximately 8 ½. On 25 count over 1, finished size would be 6 ¼ over 6 ¼ inches. The Long Way Home design can be worked over 1 thread, but take care with the detailed little houses and their tiny window panes.

First Light -
size 109x109 was designed as a companion piece to our much larger “Creation”. The model is worked with 1 strand of floss over 1 thread of 28 count light khaki Jobelan.
Stitch types are full, half, Algerian Eye, a single Border Flower, and fan stitches which are created with simple straight lines. It is charted in DMC for easy translation into the floss of your choice.
First Light is ideal for cross stitch or needlepoint and over 1 thread of fabric, it becomes a true miniature - ornament size. The design has instructions for stitching over 2, which allows more detail to be worked into the lettering. If you are working this over 1 thread of fabric, ignore the fractional stitches – they are not needed and the alphabet will be just as lovely. A full alphabet is included for personalizing your work. First Light would be a meaningful Easter gift, with very special symbolism. This design in PDF is available for immediate download Etsy.com-TemptingTangles
